Hello, everyone! This will give you some idea of what your blog will look like! You will have the freedom to customize your blog to look however you wish, and you may include links to video and audio clips, web pages, and other material you feel will be entertaining or enlightening for myself and your classmates.
There are a few things you need to keep in mind:
1) Everything that you post will be available to the public--both myself and your fellow classmates, and also the wider web community. You should not post any sensitive information (phone numbers, addresses, your X-number, etc.). You should also be careful not to put anything embarrassing or incriminating in your journal posts, as they are not totally private. Feel free to create a second blog with more limited outside access if you want to post sensitive materials (for your own use, for example).
2) All posts, links, media, etc. should be classroom-appropriate content. I reserve the right to request that you remove potentially objectionable material.
3) This space will be your journalling location as well as a site to host your electronic portfolio. While you are welcome to work on these materials outside of class (and sometimes we will need to) please make sure that you update your blog regularly. If you ever have a post or other material that you want reviewed, please let me know.
I think that these guidelines should be enough to get us started--have fun with your new space, and let me know if you run into any trouble!
